I don't know why I look so mad in some of these pictures! I promise I wasn't. I think I was just contemplating. Anyway, today's outfit contains a lot of menswear-inspired pieces: a vest, boyfriend-fitted slacks, a chambray jacket, and charcoal wool slippers (these were once called "smoking slippers"). Can you tell I'm a little obsessed with mixing in menswear into my wardrobe? Anyway, I love that the weather has cooled down enough that I can start layering more. I did not fail to do so today!
I decided to mix it up here with a statement necklace I purchased on eBay.
I bought my red Longchamp bag in Paris when I served there as a missionary for my church. I remember all the women had them. Not sure if they still carry them, but it's a classic bag. My outfit colors were pretty subdued so I thought I'd add in some color that went appropriately with everything.
**Also, I don't know if everyone keeps up with the news, but please keep the victims (and their families) of the attacks in Libya in your thoughts and prayers. We live in a crazy world. 9/11 reminds me of that every year.
I haven't heard anything about Libya. I definitely don't watch the news enough and I love the layered necklaces.

Love the title, and i LOVE this look! Menswear can sometimes look bland and TOO manly, but I love the way you really girlied this up. I think it's because the pieces fit so well, and the necklace added in there looks fantastic! You are gorgeous Mindy, and a great inspiration!!

The vest is classic! I love it with that necklace. I'm married to a Navy Officer and am obsessed with nautical as well, particulary stripes. You just can't go wrong with a style like that :)
