Gray Skies and Gray Cardigans

Hurricane Isaac has brought a lot of rain to South Carolina these past couple of days and thus it feels more like October than it does August.  Can you tell I'm ready for cooler weather?  I really don't mind the weather and love being able to pull out my cardigans and finally wear my new boots that my husband insisted on buying for me because he knew how much I loved them!  He is quite kind :)

I thought I'd try to get away with wearing a cream lace dress I bought in Singapore with my long gray cardigan from United Colors of Benetton by pairing them with my charcoal herringbone tights from J.crew.  I wanted to make the lace more casual so the boots were my solution with my skinny leather belt from J.crew.  The boots were found in an adorable little boutique in the historic downtown Summerville and I have been waiting for opportunities to wear them!  My husband lovingly calls them my Katniss boots...yes, as in Hunger Games.

I decided to wear my chandelier earrings from Nordstrom Rack, which I bought back in 2005...crazy they have lasted me this long, but I love them and they go with a lot of my wardrobe.  The linen-cotton striped scarf is from J.crew and was purchased for a killer deal since I bought it at the end of spring.  The end of a season is always my favorite time at J.crew!

I think my favorite accessory of this whole outfit is my black elastic hair band on my wrist.  Haha, forgot to take that thing off.

I hope everyone in the southeast is okay and safe from Isaac.  I know that there will be many people who are affected by it.  I just pray beautiful New Orleans is spared.
